On August 6, Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended the "Welcome to Rocky Point" sign unveiling ceremony on the south side of Route 25A across from Patchogue Drive. Funding for the sign came from the New York State Department of Health in the implementation of Creating Healthy Places in Suffolk County. Pictured left to right are Rocky Point Civic Association (RPCA) President Kathy Weber, Susan Wilk of Cornell Cooperative Extension, Legislator Sarah Anker, RPCA Trustee Rory Rubino, Corresponding Secretary Pat Adamko, Councilwoman Bonner, Joe Cognitore and RCPA Sergeant-at-Arms Charles Bevington.
"The Rocky Point community farmers market has become a destination on Sunday for families to get fresh, healthy produce," said Councilwoman Bonner. "Thanks to the Creating Healthy Places and the Family Health and Wellness program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County, we have this beautiful new sign to welcome people to the community."
